Location: Leicester
Our client is a National Domestic Violence organisation with offices based in Leicester
A temporary Chief Executive with experience is required initially for a period of one year.
You will be responsible for all senior posts – currently 2 senior managers.
Responsible to: Board of Trustees
Working with the Board
Specific Duties:
1. To report to the Board on organizational progress, providing information and answering for organizational performance
2. To support the Chair, to suggest development opportunities as appropriate
3. To ensure that the board can adequately monitor annual plans, targets and performance
4. In partnership with the Board, to develop a long – term strategy for the Charity within the vision, mission and values established by the Board
5. With the chair, to develop policy proposals for Board discussion and decision
Leading and Managing the Charity
Specific duties include:
To advise the Board in all aspects of managing the Charity, including strategic planning for the
- management of health and safety
- Legal welfare of the Charity
- Fundraising
- Human resource management
- Management of quality services and standards
To provide leadership and direction and ensure that staff, volunteers and others working in the Charity are focused on achieving the mission and strategic priorities
Promoting the Charity
1. To seek opportunities to expand and promote awareness of the Charity’s work
2. To work with fundraising staff , advising on grants, taking part in campaigns and meeting funders when necessary
Experiences Required:
An honors degree or equivalent qualification (or alternatively substantial relevant experience) is essential
Experience of human resources management
Understanding of employment law
Experience of involvement in marketing and public relations
Proven experience implementing successful change management
Experience of reporting to senior managers within partner organisations
Senior officer/Board level experience in a similar organisation including line management
Experience of working in an organisation supporting vulnerable groups
Successful strategic and operational management of organisational services
Experience of financial management
IT Skills: Knowledge of and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel
A competent user of Outlook and Internet
Ability to analyse and interpret statistical and other data
